Fumiko Chino, MD, is a radiation oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After the loss of her husband Andrew in 2007, Fumiko, a young widow, was left with both grief and hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt from her husband’s medical care. In addition to caring for people with cancer, Fumiko studies the negative health impacts of high medical costs on patients and their families.
