A social justice organizer, writer and speaker, Alicia Garza co-founded Black Lives Matter, helping transform a viral hashtag and social media force into a grassroots national organization and global human rights movement. Her articles and interviews have been featured in Time, Mic, The Guardian, Elle.com, Essence, Democracy Now!, and The New York Times. Her numerous awards include The Root 100 Most Influential African Americans 2016 and Forbes 50 Most Important Leaders. She is currently Strategy Partnership Director for the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the principal of Black Futures Lab.
